With the KBox B-201-CFL and KBox B-202-CFL models, Aaronn Electronic GmbH offers two powerful embedded box PCs from its manufacturing partner Kontron. They are ideal for authorisation-free medical applications thanks to their long availability commitments and attractive design, which allows them to fit seamlessly into surgeries, hospitals or care facilities. Eighth and ninth generation Intel Core processors and up to 32 GB of RAM provide performance reserves to effectively support applications in the field of fluid analyses, oxygen analyses or sample testing.

The housing of the KBox B series models from Kontron is made of hot-dip galvanised sheet steel (EN10215) and aluminium. This means that they are not only robust, but also look attractive. The customisation options with a customer logo on the front is another plus point for applications in the medical sector, where they are intended to provide users with clearly visible support as part of their everyday work in authorisation-free tasks such as liquid and oxygen analysis or sampling.

“We will offer the KBox B-201-CFL and the KBox B-202-CFL with the same board and CPU until 2025/26,” confirms Siegfried Zidek, Product Manager at Kontron in Augsburg. This long-term availability is a crucial advantage for application developers who rely on Windows. They can concentrate fully on optimising their software and rely on identical hardware for many years.

The Embedded Box PCs of the KBox B-series from Kontron also offer the best prerequisites in other respects. With the latest Intel processors up to i7 of the ninth generation and up to 32 GB RAM, they are also able to cope with very demanding applications in the medical sector. The graphics support is also impressive. If required, for example, a graphics card designed for use in compact computers – such as the NVIDIA QUADRO P620 – can be integrated. Connected monitors can be supplied with images in 4K resolution via HDMI.

For a tidy working environment, the KBox B-201-CFL can also be mounted on the back of a monitor using a VESA mount. Thanks to a particularly low-noise fan (less than 34 dB), it can even be deployed in quiet areas.

As a long-standing system integrator for Kontron, Aaronn Electronic offers not only the standard models in the KBox-B series with a barebone concept, but also the option of fulfilling very individual requirements according to the modular principle. These can be clarified in close co-operation with the software developers, even for small quantities. The experts at Aaronn then customise the box PCs accordingly and configure them ready for use.

Kontron KBox B-series – First choice for demanding IoT applications

The Embedded Box PCs of the KBox B series from Kontron offer high processor performance in a compact format. The KBox B-201-CFL and KBox B-202-CFL are based on mini-ITX motherboards and support 8th or 9th generation Intel Core processors. Leveraging the modular principle, Aaronn Electronic, a long-standing Kontron partner, can tailor these PCs precisely to customer requirements, addressing the needs of demanding software that requires high computing power while keeping total cost of ownership (TCO) in mind.

With up to 32GB DDR4L memory, both variants can be customized for even the most demanding applications in video and image analysis. The B-201-CFL model features one 2.5-inch and one M.2 SSD, while the B-202-CFL can support up to four SSD drives with RAID functionality, providing ample space for the operating system, applications, and data. The Embedded Box PCs are EN55032 Class B certified, making them suitable for residential and commercial use as well as harsh environments, thanks to an innovative fan design with an easily removable and washable metal grille. Both versions are designed for operating temperatures between 0 and +45°C.

The compact KBox B-201-CFL (190 x 60 x 190 mm) can be positioned almost anywhere using a VESA mount and mounting brackets for horizontal and vertical installation. The slightly larger KBox B-202-CFL (90 x 120 x 190 mm) offers additional flexibility with expansion options for two PCIe x8 cards or one PCIe x16 card.
