IoT Gateways
IoT Gateways verbinden Geräte untereinander oder mit der Cloud. Ihre wichtigste Aufgabe ist es, zuverlässig Daten zu transportieren. Daneben aggregieren sie Daten aus Anwendungen zur Datenerfassung, von Kontrollsystemen und Netzwerkanwendungen. Dafür bieten sie die erforderlichen Schnittstellen und unterstützen Standards für Time Sensitive Networking (TSN). Für den Einsatz in rauen Umgebungen müssen sie unempfindlich gegen Staub, extreme Temperaturen und Vibration sein. Da sie Daten auch von entlegenen und schwer zugänglichen Orten übermitteln sollen, sind vielfach die drahtlose Datenübertragung mittels WLAN oder LTE und Fernwartungsoptionen wichtige Ausstattungsmerkmale.
