Customized Panel-PCs tailored to Customer Requirements

For three new product series from Adlink, Aaronn Electronic offers individual device customization as a comprehensive package. The motto “Create your own Panel PC” allows for the optimal fulfillment of specialized requirements in smaller quantities. In addition to the 11th Gen. Intel Core processors based, fanless Smart Panel SP2-TGL (Open Frame) are the industrial touch monitors of the IM Series (True Flat) and the OM Series from ADLINK with display diagonals from 10.1 to 43 inches.

The smartphone has shown the way: input via a touch screen is simple, intuitive and efficient. It enables a completely different interaction with the underlying computer compared to traditional input methods using buttons and complex menu structures. The industrial sector can also benefit from this technology. Combining the computer and user interface into a Panel-PC that can be precisely tailored to specific requirements makes the process even simpler.

Flexible touch monitor solutions for individual requirements

Aaronn Electronic has been offering a wide range of industrial display applications for years. With the increasing acceptance of touch displays in the market, customer demands have become more specific and precise. Even with a broad portfolio, it may not always offer the exact fitting option. To ensure customers don’t have to settle for the second best, Aaronn Electronic has expanded its offerings to include highly flexible, easily customizable Touch Monitors and Smart Panels from the embedded manufacturer, Adlink Technology, and provides comprehensive customizing services for these products.

This opens up a wide range of applications. Adlink’s Panel-PCs are already being used in car wash systems, self-check-in kiosks at airports for baggage handling, and blood pressure monitoring devices. “The great flexibility from the factory allows for a broad spectrum of applications,” says Christian Squarra, the responsible product manager at Aaronn Electronic. “However, within this spectrum, specialized requirements often cannot be met with a catalog product. This is where our extensive experience with custom applications and our close relationships with the manufacturer come into play – helping to implement everything that is technically possible.” This could include integrating third-party expansion cards, making mechanical housing adjustments, or even adding a customer-specific logo.

IM, OM and SP2 TGL series offer robust performance for versatile applications

Adlink Technology’s “IM” series includes LCD panels in a 16:9 format with durable LED-backlight, 10-point PCAP touchscreens, and an anti-fingerprint surface treatment. (Adlink Technology)

Adlink’s “IM” series consists of industrial-grade “True Flat” touch monitors with 21.5, 23.8, and 27-inch displays in a 16:9 format. Thanks to their LED-backlit LCD panels, they offer an exceptionally long service life. The 10-point PCAP touchscreen allows for precise, reliable, and fast control, while the anti-fingerprint surface makes cleaning easy and ensures good readability. The large viewing angles – both vertically and horizontally – and brightness ranging from 200 to 400 Nits, as well as a contrast ratio of up to 3000:1 (depending on the model), further enhance the usability of the IM series. These panels are also certified to IP65, providing protection against dust and water ingress from the front of the devices.

Adlink’s “OM” series of open-frame monitors with touch support is available in eight display sizes, ranging from 10.1 to 43.0 inches. (Adlink Technology)

The “OM” series offers industrial-grade open-frame monitors with touch support. They share essential specifications with the IM series but are available in eight different display sizes, ranging from 10.1 to 43.0 inches, and achieve a contrast ratio of 4000:1 in the two largest models. They offer multiple installation options and various video interfaces, including HDMI and VGA for all models and DVI and DisplayPort for the two larger models.

Adlink’s “SP2-TGL” series of Panel-PCs, featuring Intel’s 11th generation Core processors, offers high performance and flexible customization options through I/O and function expansions. (Adlink Technology)

The Smart Panel of the “SP2-TGL” series is based on an 11th generation Intel Core processor and supports both Windows 10 IoT Enterprise and Linux Ubuntu 20.04 as operating systems. It is available in three display sizes: 10.1, 15.6, and 21.5 inches. It can be equipped with up to 64GB of DDR4 memory, an M.2 SSD card, and a 2.5-inch SSD/HDD hard drive.

For individual customization as per customer requirements, wireless kits (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and LTE) and functional modules with external I/O ports are available. With numerous standard interfaces – from Ethernet to USB to RS-232 – these panels can be easily expanded and adapted. The inclusion of a dedicated SIM card slot for 4G/5G also offers the option for mobile connectivity. Developers can discuss how to utilize these possibilities with Aaronn Electronic: “We have the experience from numerous customer projects, direct communication with the manufacturer, and the ability to implement customer requests quickly and efficiently at our site in Puchheim – following the motto ‘Create your own Panel PC’. This ranges from the company logo on the front panel and memory configuration to the selection of interfaces and adjustments to the housing.” explains Aaronn expert Squarra.

Depending on the application, regular options include an Intel Celeron 6305E CPU or 11th generation Core processors (i3/i5/i7) with speeds of 2.2, 1.5, or 1.8 GHz and two or four cores. More powerful processor variants can be realized by Aaronn in collaboration with their technology partner, Adlink, upon request.

The SP2-TGL displays are well-suited for use in harsh environments, thanks to their high ESD tolerance, resistance to voltage fluctuations, and a voltage range of 9 to 36 V. Additionally, they feature an anti-fingerprint coating, front-side sealing with IP65 protection, and resistance to shocks and vibrations. They also offer the option to extend the standard temperature range from 0 to +60 °C to -20 to +60 °C.
