Kontron presents the new 7″ touch display based on the Raspberry Pi Foundation’s Compute Module 4

Our technology partner – Kontron, a global leader in embedded IoT computing technology, is expanding its portfolio of touch displays based on the Raspberry Pi CM4. The powerful and high-resolution 7-inch IPS touch display with robust aluminum bezel will be introduced soon. With the DL 7″ Pi-Tron CM4, sophisticated visualization projects can be implemented using the advantages of the Raspberry Pi community software.

State-of-the-art touch display for the Raspberry family

The Kontron Raspberry family expands its product range with the DL 7″ Pi-Tron CM4 – a high quality, state-of-the-art touch display. This display complements the existing BL Pi-Tron CM4 board and the rugged AL Pi-Tron CM4 housing to offer a versatile solution for decentralized operating and display units as well as control and communication applications in various industries. With its PCAP multi-touch technology and a resolution of 1024×600 pixels, the display offers excellent visual characteristics.

Versatile housing and impressive features

The panel is equipped with an HDMI 2.0 connection that enables transmissions of up to 4Kp60. In addition, another HDMI monitor can be connected directly to the display to mirror or extend screen content. The housing with an aluminum front frame has dimensions of 200.1 x 131.9 x 46.5 mm (width x height x depth) and offers IP65 protection at the front and IP20 at the rear. This design is ideal for integration into control cabinets and control panels and fits into practically any installation situation. Wireless interfaces (WLAN & Bluetooth) are also available as an option, whereby an external antenna can be connected.

Powerful Pi-Tron CM4 products and benefits for the Raspberry Pi community

The Pi-Tron CM4 family products are based on the fourth generation compute module and offer significantly increased processor performance compared to the previous generation with the Broadcom BCM2711, a 4x Arm® Cortex®-A72, 64-bit SoC with a clock frequency of 1.5 GHz. The CM4 will be produced until January 2028. A significant advantage of the Raspberry Pi community is the available software examples as well as an extensive pool of already compiled application programs. Kontron Electronics is a proud Raspberry Pi Design Partner.
